Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service (BFRS) is proposing to change the way it responds to Automatic Fire Alarms (AFAs). By reducing attendance to unwanted fire signals (UwFS), BFRS aims to optimise resource allocation and enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness. A pilot of the proposed changes was launched on 8 July 2024. This pilot will run until February 2025.
As part of the pilot, BFRS is undertaking this six-week public consultation to gather feedback from local residents, staff, businesses and other stakeholders. The consultation response will be combined with data obtained from the pilot to help form a proposal for BFRS’ future response to AFAs, which will then be submitted to Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority for approval.
To give your feedback, please complete this questionnaire by 2 December 2024. It should take around 5-10 minutes of your time and we welcome responses from everyone, including members of the public, organisations and BFRS employees.
To find out more before answering the questions, please read the accompanying information: BFRS response to Automatic Fire Alarm Activations (Consultation) – Supporting Information, which can be viewed online here.
BFRS has appointed Opinion Research Service (ORS), as an independent social research company, to manage the consultation and questionnaire responses. ORS will faithfully report the outcomes, in which the views of individual respondents will be anonymous; but where feedback is from a representative of an organisation or someone acting in their official capacity, it may be attributed.
All the questions are optional, you are able to withdraw at any time, and all information you provide will be processed by ORS in accordance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
BFRS is the data controller and ORS is the data processor. Any personal information will be kept for no more than 1 year after any decisions have been finalised.
