The Welsh Government is currently undertaking an evaluation of the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 which came into effect on 1st December 2022. The aim is to understand the implementation and impact of the legislative changes introduced by the Act and assess their success or otherwise.
This questionnaire forms one part of the evaluation and will ask for data, and your views and experiences to date of the main legislative changes that came into effect on 1st December 2022. Previous questionnaires were sent out to landlords and managing agents in Spring 2023, shortly after the changes came into effect providing baseline findings, and Spring 2024, one year post implementation of the Act to continue to assess the process of embedding in. This third, and final, questionnaire focuses on the overall impact of the Act two years post implementation.
The questionnaire is being carried out on the Welsh Government’s behalf by Opinion Research Services (ORS), an independent research company.
The questionnaire will take 10-15 minutes to complete and is open to complete until 22nd June 2025. Your feedback will help Welsh Government assess the impact of the Act on landlords and managing agents and on the rental sector overall in Wales. The information you provide will be processed, and saved on a secure server by ORS. Any personal data you provide can only be accessed by a limited number of ORS staff working on the project and will be used for research purposes only. The Welsh Government are the data controller for the survey; however, ORS will remove any personal data provided before it is shared with the Welsh Government. Neither you nor your organisation will be identified to Welsh Government.
This questionnaire is carried out in accordance with all Data Protection legislation and the Market Research Society (MRS) Code of Conduct. ORS will hold personal data during the research period, however they will delete any information that identifies you/your organisation by three months after the completion of the project at the latest.
